The Doctor Whovian resource pack is the only resource pack that is inspired by the hit TV show named Doctor Who. What inspired the developer to make the texture pack was his love of the show. Unlike most fangs of Doctor Who, he got to experience the show later on in life. Developing the resource pack was a natural decision and a means to offers the fans of the show and Minecraft, a world they can enjoy. To improve the visuals in vanilla Minecraft, the resource pack increases the resolution of textures. Instead of having 16x textures, Doctor Whovian uses 32x textures. The increased resolution adds a layer of depth and details to every single block and object in the game. For the sake of diversity and a step away from vanilla, the resource pack also introduces new blocks and objects. You can now build the iconic phone booth, there are new crates, chests, plants, new bookshelves, computers, displays, and many more. There are a few new blocks that make it possible to recreate scenes from the TV show or even the TARDIS control room.
There are also new paintings with a picture of the characters. Lastly, the developer also added a few new models and textures for mobs. Another important change that the Doctor Whovian resource pack brings is a redesign to the GUI and player HUD. Again, they have been inspired by the Doctor Who TV show. The new GUI is not dark blue and the main screen background is also using dark shades of blue and black in a wavy design. The resource pack also changes the colors of several standard blocks. There are more shades of brown and many blocks have more vibrant textures. The sky and water textures remained unchanged and there are no connected textures or moving textures. This implies that the game performance is not considerably impacted by just the increase in texture resolution. Regardless, the developer also released a 16x version of his resource pack for players with older computers. The 16x version should have no performance impact for players with older systems that can play vanilla Minecraft.
