Bare Bones is an absolute fan-favorite Minecraft resource pack that first dropped back in 2017, and honestly, it continues to receive incredible critical acclaim and sky-high reviews from gamers everywhere! I love how the Bare Bones resource pack gives your Minecraft world a much simpler look that is super easy on the eyes and genuinely appealing to so many people. Plenty of other packs have tried to nail this exact style in the past, but Bare Bones is completely miles ahead of the competition. Ultimately, the core mission of the Bare Bones resource pack is to transform the game into a remarkably straightforward style that remains charming for anyone playing, whether you are totally brand new to the world of Minecraft or have been building for many years.
The Bare Bones resource pack utilizes a fantastic variety of textures that deliver a clean and vibrant appearance all across the game while keeping those wonderful, simplistic visuals intact. These visuals create a sleek aesthetic that guarantees a delightful experience for every single gamer jumping into Minecraft. These simple visuals are such a refreshing way to experience the game in a whole new light, and they remain a massive favorite for a wide variety of players. Another major highlight I really appreciate about Bare Bones is that it also features special animated textures for many of its items and blocks, bringing an even deeper level of immersion as you explore every corner of the Minecraft universe. Best of all, the standard resolution of the Bare Bones texture is 16×16, making it wonderfully lightweight so any system can run the game smoothly without running into technical issues or sudden frame-rate drops.

How to Install Texture Pack (Simple 10 Steps)
- Download OptiFine: Most of the texture packs and shaders need OptiFine. That’s why, first download and install OptiFine for the version of Minecraft you want to play.
- Download the Texture Pack: Get the texture pack you want from the download section. Choose the version that works with your Minecraft and your PC’s performance.
- Open Minecraft Launcher: Start Minecraft using the official game launcher — or even TLauncher, if you use that.
- Go to Options: From the main menu, click on the “Options” button.
- Open Resource Packs: Inside Options, click on “Resource Packs…”.
- Open the Resource Pack Folder: Click on “Open Resource Pack Folder” — this will open a folder named “resourcepacks”.
- Move the Pack File: Copy or move the .zip file you downloaded into that “resourcepacks” folder. (Don’t unzip the file — Minecraft uses it as-is!)
- Go Back and Refresh: Close the folder and click “Done”, then go back into “Resource Packs…” again.
- Activate the Pack: You’ll see the pack on the left side. Hover over it and click the arrow to move it to the right (active side).
Tip: If you get a message that the pack is for a different version, just click “Yes” — it usually works fine. - Click Done and Enjoy: Click “Done” again. Now your pack is ready to use in-game. It’s that easy!
